This is a photo of me on the equator line in Ecuador! One thing that was pretty cool about going to the Equator line(s) was seeing the demonstrations of the Coriolis effect. I say “line(s)” because there were actually two. One was at the memorial pictured above, which was created by French settlers with imprecise instruments, and the second was about 500 m North of there, which has been verified as the Earth’s actual Equator line.

That is so cool Colin! I’ve never been to the equator itself! It looks like everyone wanted to take a picture on or straddling the equator right then 😉 I recall the same kind of lineup for taking pictures at Four Corners in Arizona/NewMexico/Colorado/Utah
